Tell us a little bit about yourself, Trisha. Who are you?

I am a stay-at-home mom and wife on top of being a supernatural/urban fiction author.

What are a few of your favorite things/least favorite things?

I like cool weather, reading a good book, and cuddling with my cats.

All of that sounds great. Did you always want to be an author?

No. I wanted to be an artist.

When did you know you wanted to be an author?

In high school when my creative writing teacher told me no one wants books from the monster’s POV.

Oh, come on! The monsters are the best part. How long have you been writing?

Since I was fourteen, I believe, so forty-one-ish years.

ree

Are you independently published or traditionally published?

I am self-published. I choose it mainly because I was tired of being rejected by agents and publishing houses.

Yeah, that part is always rough. What do you enjoy most and least about being an author?

I enjoy meeting people who read my books. I don’t like promoting my books.

Are you a plotter, a plantser, or a pantser?

Pantser. I can’t plot my books. My characters stop talking when I do.

Do you have any writing routines?

Just sit almost daily and write. I normally have Micca Michaels live going while I write.

Sometimes it helps to be around other people, even through a screen. How do you deal with writer’s block?

I work on a writing prompt.

How many WIPs do you have going right now? Can you tell us anything about them?

Goodness! Too many I don’t remember.

Where do you get the inspiration for your books? Do you insert pieces of yourself and people you know into your books?

Just about anything inspires me. Yes, I put parts of myself and others (with permission) in my books.

ree

How many books do you currently have published? Tell us about them.

I have four books out, soon to be five. Life By The Full Moon, Life By The Blood Moon, Life By The Blue Moon, and soon, Life By The Eclipsed Moon. All but one are in my Ann Smith series. They are about a woman who was attacked by a Werejaguar and how her life changed forever. She also deals with a lot in her new life. The other book is Nirvash, A Vampire’s Tale. It's about a vampire who is trying to live in a world that doesn’t want her in it.

Do you prefer standalone books or book series?

Series.

How do you handle the author/life balance? (i.e. writing/editing/graphic design/home life/etc.)

I am not sure there was a balance until my kids were older. (They are twenty-one and twenty-three now.)

I understand. Having a family makes being an author tougher, but they're only little for so long. Besides writing, do you have any hobbies? Do any of your characters share the same interests as you?

Reading, diamond painting, and being crafty.

Do you have anything that you’re truly passionate about outside of writing?

The proper care of birds, primarily parrot species.

What do you do for your mental health and to recharge your creativity?

I read.

ree

Me too. Do you have any advice for unpublished writers or people who hope to become authors?

Just write the book you would want to read.

We're almost done, but let's do some fun questions! What is the best gift you have been given?

A new notebook.

How many pairs of shoes do you own?

Three.

What's the most daring thing you've ever done?

Went to the top of Pike’s Peak.

Fascinating. Are you a messy or a clean person?

I am messy, but I try to be clean.

Do you collect anything besides books?

Pretty rocks and rubber ducks.

I love niche interests! Do you believe in aliens or ghosts?

Yes, to both!

Same. What's your favorite ice cream flavor?

Mint Chip.

If you could be a shifter what would your alternate form be?

A jaguar.

Which inanimate object would be the most annoying if it played loud upbeat music while being used?

A hair trimmer.

What are you interested in that most people aren’t?

Harley Quinn stuff.

Harley Quinn is great. As a child, what did you think would be awesome about being an adult but isn’t as awesome as you thought it would be? Why?

Driving a car. It sucks, putting gas in it.

It sure does. Thank you for sharing with us! Where can we find you online?

You're everywhere on the web! Do you have any planned events?

Awesome. Well, thank you so much for joining us, Trisha. It's been a pleasure chatting with you!
