Tell us a little bit about yourself. Who are you?

I am a writer of science fiction, fantasy, and horror fiction that tends to not be quite so conventional. I’m weird, and I aspire to produce fiction that reflects my think-outside-the-box approach to life.

What are a few of your favorite things/least favorite things?

Books, video games, and funny/positive music are my favorite things.

Did you always want to be an author?

I kind of feel like I never had a fighting chance to be anything but, especially after my elementary school teachers kept sending me to Young Author conferences in my school district in the 1980’s.

That's amazing! Besides writing, do you have any hobbies?

I play video games.

Do any of your characters share the same interests as you?

I try to give my characters hobbies/interests that I would never dream of pursuing on my own to make them feel more lifelike.

That's understandable. Do you have anything that you’re truly passionate about outside of writing?

Trying to make the world a brighter place one smile at a time. Kindness goes a long way in my opinion, and I just want to give other people reasons to smile.

How long have you been writing?

Since the early 90’s when my grandmother first purchased spiral notebooks for me.

Which genres do you write in?

Science fiction, fantasy, and horror.

Are you independently published or traditionally published? Why did you choose this route?

Indie. A fellow author convinced me to go this route back in 2012, and I haven’t looked back since.

What do you enjoy most about being an author?

The writing itself. I can go for hours on end just immersed in crafting fictional worlds.

Are you a plotter, a plantser, or a pantser?

Pantster. I’ve tried outlining a couple of times, but my internal GPS keeps veering off course when I’m in free form writing.

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Read at least a chapter a day.

I will have to give that a try. How many WIPs do you have going right now? Can you tell us anything about them?

Three. Two rough drafts and a book being run through edits post-beta reader.

How many books do you currently have published? Tell us about them.

20.

My standalones are Optical Osmosis, Life Flashes, and Fool’s Blood.

My Interstellar Dad books have four titles in the series, which follows Andrew Skyes and his intergalactic adventures following becoming pregnant by aliens in Book #1.

My Mages of Trava series likewise has four titles, which follows the adventures of Mages being persecuted for using magic in the kingdom of Trava.

I have two books, Speed Demons and Dead-End Demons, which are being released as second editions in the near future.

There are two books in the Meta-Misfits series so far, which deals with mutated heroes trying to stop a mutation crisis in Greensville.

And lastly, there are currently four books released in the Bloboid Wars saga which follows slime creatures bent on conquering the universe any which way they can.

That's a lot of books! I need to get on your level. But tell me, where do you get the inspiration for your books?

Sometimes characters talk to me in my sleep. Other times I just get general ideas of what I want to write about.

Do you prefer standalone books or book series?

I actually find both kinds to be enjoyable, depending on my mood.

Do you have a favorite character? Why?

My favorite character of all time is a Demon named Lulubelle, who has not yet seen publication yet since she is currently in a book slated to be released by my publisher in the coming months. She takes gruff from no one but still has something of a heart of gold.

What is your most popular book?

ree

Which of your books do you wish received more love than it does?

Bloboids Vs. Demons, the third book in my Bloboid Wars series, had an awesome barroom brawl scene that I wish more people had read.

How do you handle the author/life balance?

Life has been weighing more heavily on the balance side of things but I still make time for my authorial career.

I understand that. What do you do for your mental health and to recharge your creativity?

Read books.

Do you have any advice for unpublished writers or people who hope to become authors?

Do it for the love of the craft. Study it. Learn what works and what doesn’t in the storytelling process. Dream Big and don’t be afraid to chase after your dreams. If and when you stumble, pick yourself back up and keep on going again. You’ve got this.

I love that! Great advice. We're almost done, but before we go, let's do some fun questions!

What is the best gift you have been given?

Books!

Are you a clean or messy person?

Messy

If you could be a shifter what would your alternate form be?

I might try to pretend to be an actor.

Thanks for talking with us Jeff! Before we go, can you please tell us where readers can find you online?

jeffbeeslerbooks.com for my author website,

http://kck.st/455Cbib for my kickstarter

Do you have any planned events?

I presently have a kickstarter going on for the audiobook for Bloboids Vs. Mages, which runs through October 4th.

Is there anything else you would like us to know?

I’m gonna be writing until the day I pass away from this planet, although if I end up haunting the place in the hereafter, I’ll likely be a “ghost” writer.

OMG, that is funny!

Jeff, I heard you have some goodies to give away?

I have plenty of audiobook codes to give away for my books that do have codes.

Are there any rules or exclusions?

Codes are only good for the US or UK.

How can readers get those codes?

Easiest way to contact me about an audiobook code is to go to jeffbeeslerbooks.com and shoot me a message using the contact button at the top of the page on my site.
